Nature, sport and relax:

1) Cross-Country Skiing Trails

The cross-country skiing trails are located in Val Saisera, in the Malborghetto-Valbruna area, in Tarvisio. In this enchanting mountainous landscape, there are two different routes to explore: Bassa Saisera and Alta Saisera. Skiers will find both equipment rentals and a bar-restaurant available. The Alta Saisera loop is also certified for competitions. In Tarvisio, you can find the "Arena Gabriella Paruzzi," named after the Olympic champion who hails from Camporosso.

2)  food and wine culture

Frico, thanks to the excellent local cheese, takes on a truly unique flavor in this area. Considered the flagship dish of Friulan tradition, frico is a symbol of the culinary culture of this region.

The cuisine of Tarvisiano is shaped by the influences of the so-called culture of the three borders, combining Friulan, Slovenian, and Austrian culinary traditions. This fusion of cultures is reflected in dishes rich in flavors, fresh ingredients, and centuries-old traditions, making every meal a unique and authentic experience.

Local cured meats, sausages, and cheeses from the alpine pastures are also excellent.

 3) Fauna

The capercaillie, the black grouse, the white partridge, and the rock partridge are present. Some pairs of golden eagles live permanently between the Julian Alps and the Carnic Alps. The marmot and the white or variable hare are widespread at higher altitudes. Ungulates are very numerous: the roe deer, the red deer, the chamois, the ibex, and the wild boar. In recent years, the lynx, the golden jackal, the brown bear, the wolf, and the beaver have been periodically seen and photographed.
