Fusine lakes
The Fusine Lakes are one of the most characteristic corners of the Friuli Venezia Giulia mountains, forming a natural world of their own. Of glacial origin, with an upper and a lower lake, they are connected by an underground water system that freezes in winter and can reach some of the coldest temperatures in Italy.

The lakes are surrounded by the nearby mountains: the Ponze, and the Mangart, a massive gray dome towering in the background. They are the perfect starting point for hikes, via ferratas, and challenging climbs. The climbing crags of Masso Pirona and the Ponze are also ideal for beginners.

The Zacchi Refuge, located above the lakes, offers a dominant position and is easily accessible to families with children, both in winter and summer.
